PepsiCo Europe is one of the region's leading food and beverage companies. Encompassing over 60,000 employees, almost 900 million consumers, 11 time zones and 45 countries, the business spans from Russia west to Portugal, and Turkey north to Norway.

With estimated net revenues of $13 billion, PepsiCo Europe brings to the market some of the world's most respected household names - brands including Quaker Oats, Tropicana, Gatorade, Walkers, Lay's and Pepsi-Cola, as well as local favourites such as Walkers, Fruktovy Sad, Ya, Tonus, Hrusteam, Russky Dar, Yedigun, Alvalle, Kas, Matutano, Benenuts, Star Chips, Duyvis and Sandora.

The business is also focused on sustainable growth in the region. We are making significant investments in Eastern Europe, allowing us to reach around 350 million consumers in Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian markets.

  • Our $5.4 billion acquisition of Wimm-Bill-Dann, Russia's leading branded food-and-beverage company, makes PepsiCo the #1 food and beverage business in Russia
  • The PepsiCo brand Marbo opened a new potato chip production line at its plant in Backi Maglic, Serbia in 2010. The new €20 million production line will bring state-of-the art technology to Serbia's leading snacks producer as well as 100 new jobs to the local community
  • In February 2010, PepsiCo announced €50 million investments at their Polish plants Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Tomaszow Mazowiecki, followed later in the year by the creation of new jobs at the Tomaszow plant

As a business, we encourage people to live a healthier life by offering a portfolio of enjoyable and wholesome food and beverages whilst increasing the amount of whole grains, fruits and vegetables in our products.

  • PepsiCo has invested more than €20 million in a flagship European R&D centre at Leicester in the UK, which employs 100 scientists and is dedicated to creating new, healthier snacks for the European market
  • In 2011, PepsiCo Europe will open a €15 million fruit and vegetable R&D innovation centre in Hamburg, Germany

In addition, more widely across the business, we have committed to reducing sodium in key global brands by 25% by 2015, reducing the average amount of saturated fat per serving by 15% by 2020, while reducing the average amount of added sugar per serving by 25% by 2020.

We also believe in protecting our planet. As part of our global commitment, PepsiCo Europe is dedicated to improving water use efficiency by 20% per unit of production and energy use by 25% by 2015 versus the 2006 baseline. In the UK for example, in partnership with our British farmers, we aim to reduce the carbon and water impact of our core crops in the UK by 50% over the next 5 years.
